ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS

Foreign nationals intending to travel to Singapore should ensure that they meet the relevant entry requirements before travelling. Please refer to the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (opens in new tab) (ICA) website for the most up-to-date information on entry requirements, including whether you require an entry visa to travel to Singapore.

Foreign nationals who require an entry visa to visit Singapore may submit their visa applications to the High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in Pretoria.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA

Step 1: Contact the High Commission

Before submitting a visa application, applicants must contact the High Commission at singhc_pry@mfa.sg (opens in new tab) to obtain the latest visa application form (Form 14A), list of required supporting documents, Refund Acknowledgement Form (RAF), applicable visa fee and payment instructions.

Step 2: Prepare Your Application and Make Payment

Complete the visa application form and prepare all required supporting documents. Applicants should also make payment of the applicable visa fee for each application, based on the amount and payment instructions provided by the High Commission.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Visa applications may be submitted by e-mail or in-person by prior appointment only. Walk-in applications will not be accepted.

Each submission must include:

  • Completed visa application form (Form 14A);

  • Required supporting documents;

  • Copy of valid passport with at least six (6) months validity on the date of entry into Singapore;

  • 2 passport-sized colour photographs taken within three (3) months. Please see Photo Guidelines ↗(opens in new tab) (opens in new tab) for information on photo requirements;

  • Proof of Payment (POP) of the applicable visa fee; and

  • Completed Refund Acknowledgement Form (RAF).

For submission in-person: Applicants must arrange an appointment in advance by e-mailing singhc_pry@mfa.sg (opens in new tab). The High Commission will advise applicants of the appointment date and time.

Step 4: Processing of Application

Visa applications take at least ten (10) working days to process from the date of receipt of a complete application. The High Commission will update on the outcome of the application via e-mail.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  1. Incomplete forms and/or documents submitted may result in the application being rejected or the processing delayed. Applicants should therefore ensure that their applications are complete and submitted sufficiently in advance of their intended date of travel. The High Commission is unable to expedite or accord priority to individual visa applications.

  2. Every application for a visa, including the duration of the visa granted, will be considered on its own merits and subject to approval.

  3. Possession of a visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore. The granting of entry into Singapore is determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry. Visitors must also meet entry requirements such as holding a valid passport, sufficient funds for the period of stay in Singapore and confirmed onward/return air ticket (if applicable).

  4. The validity of the visa refers to the period where the holder may seek entry into Singapore. The duration of stay is determined by ICA officers on duty at the respective checkpoints.

  5. A Singapore visa is not an immigration pass. It is a pre-entry permission for the holder of a valid Singapore visa to travel to, and seek entry, into Singapore. The grant of an immigration pass will be determined by the ICA officers at the point of entry. Possession of a valid visa alone does not guarantee entry into Singapore.
